Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open a web browser on your computer and navigate to the Google Forms homepage at forms.google.com.

2. Click on the '+ Blank' button to create a new form. Alternatively, you can select an existing form if you want to make that form anonymous.

3. Once your form is open, click on the settings icon (a gear symbol) in the upper-right corner of the screen.

4. In the settings menu, click on the 'Collect email addresses' checkbox to ensure it is unchecked. Google Forms automatically collects email addresses by default, so this step is necessary to make your form anonymous.

5. Click on the 'Presentation' tab in the settings menu.

6. Check the 'Show link to submit another response' checkbox. This ensures that respondents can't see previous responses, which helps to maintain anonymity.

7. Click the 'Save' button to save your changes and close the settings menu.

Tips and Best Practices

- If you're sending the form via email, make sure to use the BCC field to maintain the anonymity of your respondents.

- Use general language in your form questions to avoid making respondents feel singled out.

- Make sure to inform your respondents that their responses will be anonymous. This will encourage open and honest responses.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

- Avoid asking for personally identifiable information in your form questions, as this could compromise the anonymity of your form.

- Be aware that if you're logged into a Google Workspace account, respondents within your organization may still be tracked. To ensure complete anonymity, consider creating and sharing the form from a personal Google account.
